Letter of the President

Dear EURAM colleagues and friends,

the 25^th EURAM Annual Conference ‘Managing with Purpose’, that has been held 22-25^th of June at the University of Florence, has been a great success! The conference included 80 tracks, 1,430 papers presented in over 500 sessions, 31 symposia, and 7 labs. It has been attended by 2,084 delegates from 67 countries, while 73 PhDs have participated to the Doctoral Colloquium and more than 500 delegates attended the labs. The keynotes – i.e., Vivien A. Schmidt on wake-up Europe; Serena Porcari and Albena Bjork on Social entrepreneurship – have helped us to develop a deeper and more unconventional perspective on two timely and relevant topics. I express my sincere gratitude to all EURAM stakeholders that made this possible: the SIG chairs, the Track chairs, the Symposia & Lab panelists, the submitters, the reviewers, the local organizers (the University of Florence amazing team lead by Sara and Andrea), the Chairs of the Doctoral Colloquium, the Country Representatives, the Fellows, the ExCom, the Board, the EURAM staff and the DEKON team.

The 2025 EURAM annual conference has been a bittersweet meeting for me, and probably also for all members.

Sweet because we celebrated our 25^th anniversary. Our founding President (Joan Enric Ricart) told me that EURAM founders started with big dreams and no financial resources. Today, our society is a large Society with more than 2,500 members and a solid financial position. Recently, we organized a series of strategic meetings to develop strategic directions to implement in the near future. Stay tuned for more information!

Bitter because EURAM has been hit by a terrible loss this year. Unfortunately, our long-standing friend and staff member Luisa Jaffe passed away few months ago. We missed her smile, her attention to details, her care and generosity for others, and her invaluable support to our society. We remained with her sweet memories, that will be always with us and our society. The ExCom and the Board are developing an award to recognize her service and honor her memory.

Finally, EURAM never sleeps! We are already working for the 26^th EURAM annual conference that will be held the 16-19^th June 2026 at the University of Agder, Norway. As the 10^th of July 2025 was the deadline to submit topic and symposium proposals, I can share with you that we received proposals for 88 topics and 44 symposia.
