EURAM E-News, April 2025
Letter of the President
Dear EURAM colleagues and friends,
I just came back from the EURAM Early Career Colloquium, that has been held the 19-21st of March 2025 at the Bologna Business School. It is always a rewarding experience to participate and contribute to our EECC. The program alternates plenary and small group’s sessions where junior and senior scholars may interact and share views on how to develop their professional career. During the first day, we had also the chance to explore the city centre of Bologna with a competent and friendly guide and to taste the excellent local food and wine. The colleagues from the University of Bologna, Department of Management, did a fantastic work in both organizing and managing every detail during the workshop. I want to personally thank everyone who made it possible: the passionate and talented young scholars, the local organizers (Leonardo, Ines and Paola), Johanna Szulc (vice president for EECC), and all mentors (Almina, Fabian, Mine, Peter, Pierre, Stefan), EURAM executives (Nicola). The EECC embodies the EURAM spirit, i.e., the meeting between senior and young members contributes to develop a stronger and more cohesive community of management scholars. I encourage all early career scholars to attend this event in the future and I announce that the Board has decided to fund some participants to EECC and DC of the next two editions. Stay tuned on the EURAM website, more details soon.
We are quickly approaching our Annual Conference ‘Managing with Purpose’, that will be organized by the University of Florence. The meeting will last several days and include different activities: Doctoral Colloquium (21-22nd of June), EURAM Labs (four labs on 22nd of June, two extra labs on 24th and a last one on 25th), Annual Conference (23-25th of June). This year we received 2745submissions, involved 2885 reviewers; the conference will have over 500 sessions, 1,600 papers presented, 30 symposia, and 7 labs. We estimate that about 2,000 delegates will attend the conference as well as 80 PhDs will attend the Doctoral Colloquium. I express my sincere gratitude to all EURAM stakeholders that made this possible: the SIG chairs, the Track chairs, the symposia & Lab panelists, the submitters, the reviewers, the University of Florence (Sara and Andrea in particular), the Chairs of the Doctoral Colloquium, the ExCom (especially Eythor and Audrey), the Board and the EURAM staff.
Finally, EURAM is becoming more social and connected. Our presence in all social media continues to increase. The most effective social media seems to be Linkedin, that is becoming a website where to publish periodic updates and announcements for all members. At the end of March, we have 9,632 followers and they continue to grow. So, I invite you to link with EURAM on social media in order to access our Society’s posts.
See you all soon in Florence to celebrate our 25th anniversary together!
All the best,
Alessandro Zattoni
EURAM President
