Topics are considered relevant research questions, themes, issues, problems or aspects to be included in the programme and that will configure the parallel sessions of the different Strategic Interest Groups [SIGs] of EURAM.

From the traditional Call for Tracks to the new Call for Topics

EURAM has been always characterised by a dynamic and collaborative programme-building process based on Track proposals. Such model has provided excellent results in terms of creating research communities and enhancing members’ participation. Nevertheless, the EURAM conference has achieved a significant size that in the last years have limited the space available for new proposals.

In this sense, this year we will continue, as it was started last year, a model for programme building, which tries to maintain the spirit of collaboration and members participation while avoiding limitations to new ideas due the the existence of previously accepted tracks. Our model opens the proposal of topics to the whole community of researchers. We strongly encourage you to make your contribution to build the conference programme by proposing research topics that you would like to be discussed in Valencia.

After receiving the topics’ proposals, each SIG will evaluate them in order to identify and highlight the most promising ones in the call for papers. In case of similar topics being proposed by more than one team, SIGs will priorise the more solid proposals in terms of background and experience of the proponents, confirmation of availability of reviewers, discussants and session chairs, etc.

This way, authors will submit their papers to the selected topics. At the end of the submission period, SIGs will create Tracks focused on the most successful topics in terms of submissions (The threshold for a topic to become a conference track will be 20 submissions).

Proponents of succesful topics will be then invited to join the programme as TRACK CHAIRS (to learn about Topic Proponent’s responsibilities and Track Chair’s responsibilities click here).

The rest of the topics receiving a lower number of submissions will be still presented and discussed in the conference and will be part of the General Track of every SIG.
